I like signs like this – they make an otherwise blah wall into an artistic one.
I agree with Ewok! Terrific capture for the day and an interesting look at your world! Hope you enjoy a great week!
Yeah, I love seeing these old signs too, when they’re hanging on for dear life.
‘Ghost Signs’ – nice.
Sailor suits must’ve been quite popular at one point!
it’s a definite YES in Norfolk Virginia! :-)
This wall looks so cool. We don´t have this type of signs here.
I love these faded ads. Neat shot.
really cool. there is one on the side of the mountain nearby…love them on old buildings as well..gives character…smiles. happy theme thursday!
We have some of these same ghost signs in our downtown area. I should capture them before someone gets the bright idea to paint the buildings.
Love this kind of photos. Great addition to this weeks theme.
Wonderful shot. wordpress is so much more elegant than blogger for posting. Went & viewed some of your nature photography and enjoyed that too. Welcome to TT!
thank you so much for your nice words. I do agree about wordpress, but I also have 3 blogspot blogs!!!! :-)
I enjoyed visiting your blog too. I like Dewey’ pictures with the frisbee….
See you around the cyber-neighborhood :-) Marina

I live just south of both Providence, RI and Fall River, MA, and both cities are full of these old, fading signs on the sides of brick buildings. They definitely gve character to a place! Nice capture.
Sydney’s so modern and pristine that I think they’ve painted over all these sorts of signs. Melbourne however . . love that leftover from yesteryear thing.
very nice. all our ads are on billboards. they’d look much better on the side of an old brick building.
These ghost signs look to be in fairly good condition. I often wonder if there was some treatment that could be done to preserve them from fading even further.
i like the weathered look of this ghost sign. it’s nostalgic.:p
The images give the wall character :-)
Just Keep Swimming
Ghost Signs… I like the title. I have a photo ready to post on Lesley’s Signs, Signs but I was stuck for a good post title. I’m going to borrow it.
That is one excellent photo. It solves one of life’s big mysteries. I now know where the Cracker Jack boy got his suits.
I like old signs they are pretty cool!
Sign of time
There are some old buildings like this one in Richmond with these antique vintage signs. I love them This one is wonderful.
